ANNOUNCEMENT: i Spy Eurospy

Hey everyone, I've been recently thinking about how to bring a new segment on to the site and I have finally come up with a concrete idea that sheds light on my newfound love of a misunderstood genre. As of late I've been obsessing over Eurospy films to the point that it's driving me insane, so it is my great pleasure to announce the new running segment, i Spy Eurospy.

You may be asking yourself, "What the hell is Eurospy?" Well according to Wikipedia, Eurospy films is a nickname for the genre of European films that imitated and spoofed the James Bond 007 series of films. These films were mostly made in the later half of the 60's and then slowly trickled out into the 70's. They were made on a fraction of the budget than their bigger brother 007 was privy to, but they packed so many insane characters, beautiful women, outlandish baddies, and lavish locations into their running time that they often rivaled Bond's adventures themselves.

I've been scouring the web in pursuit of legit, quality DVD's and searching high and low for any reviews on this long forgotten genre. Being inspired by such sites as Double 0 Section, Permission to Kill, and the dedicated community over at the EuroSpy Forum, I've decided to start up this section to help bring some of these great flicks to the fans here at The Lucid Nightmare and to anyone who happens to stumble across this site. The genre is amazing to delve into, but it can be a bit overwhelming. Many fantastic films are hard to obtain, but there are a chosen few that can be found if you look hard enough and deal out enough dough.

The point of this new section is to bring these great films to the public's eye and hopefully recruit some new people into the wild world of Eurospy films. Can't wait to get started.
